Grid Tied Solar System

A grid-tie solar system is a popular option for those who want to use solar energy. It allows you to stay connected to the local utility grid. This setup lets you use solar power during the day. You can draw electricity from the grid when needed, like at night or on cloudy days. This way, you can harness the sun's power for free energy during the day

Off Grid Solar System

Off-grid solar power systems work as stand-alone systems, separate from the utility grid. This makes them perfect for remote areas or people wanting energy independence. They utilise solar panels to convert sunlight into electricity and store excess energy in batteries during low sunlight and for use at night.

Hybrid Solar Power

Hybrid solar power systems combine the benefits of grid-tied and off-grid systems, providing reliable backup power and optimizing renewable energy use. They allow for surplus solar energy storage in batteries for use later during peak demand, outages or night time, ensuring continuous power availability, while reaping the benefits of free solar energy.

Solar Boreholes

At Universal Electrical Solutions, we specialize in providing efficient and sustainable solar borehole systems designed to meet a diverse range of water needs. Our solar-powered borehole pumps are capable of delivering from a modest 100 liters per hour to an impressive 18,500 liters per hour, ensuring a reliable water supply for both residential and commercial applications.

How we Work

Our Solar Installation
Process

We offer specialized electrical services aimed at optimizing solar energy systems. Our experienced electricians evaluate and design setups to achieve maximum efficiency while ensuring smooth integration with your current infrastructure. We focus on enhancing solar output and extending the lifespan of your system, guaranteeing you receive the best return on your investment. Allow us to assist you in unlocking your solar energy potential.

Site Visit & Inspection

Our solar technician will check your property to see how much solar energy it can get. They will look at sunlight exposure, shading, roof direction, and available space as well as your consumption and ideal energy needs.

Design & Proposal

Following the site assessment, we will create a solar energy system tailored to your energy requirements. You will receive a proposal detailing the system's specifications, projected energy production, and associated costs.

Permits & Equipment

We will secure the essential permits, which may encompass zoning permits, building permits, and electrical permits. Additionally, we will order the required solar panels, inverters, mounting hardware, and other system components.

Roof Preparation

If your solar panels are going to be installed on the roof, we will assess and prepare it appropriately. This process may include repairs, reinforcements, or modifications to ensure that the roof can adequately support the solar panel system.

Installation & Electrical

The installation involves linking panels to inverters and connecting to the home’s electrical system, which may require new wiring and a bi-directional meter to monitor energy production and consumption.

Certificate of Compliance

The final step involves conducting our last checks, labelling, and completing the necessary paperwork. A CoC (Certificate of Compliance) will be issued for our work, and the final paperwork for registration with the Council will be completed.

Some of most Popular Solar Questions answered

Yes, with the right system size and battery storage, solar energy can fully power a home or business. Systems can be customized to meet specific energy needs, and hybrid setups can integrate solar with grid power for consistency.

A Solar technician can assess your property for factors like sunlight exposure, roof orientation, and shading. Most properties can accommodate solar panels with the right design and setup.

While not necessary, batteries store excess energy for use during outages or at night, enhancing energy independence. They can also provide backup power and help maximize the use of your solar system.

Yes, solar panels can still generate electricity on cloudy or rainy days, although at a reduced efficiency. Modern panels are designed to capture a broad spectrum of light, ensuring functionality even in less-than-ideal conditions.

Most solar panels come with a warranty of 20-25 years, but they can last even longer with proper maintenance. Over time, the efficiency may slightly decrease, but panels continue to produce energy for decades.

When you use approved inverters and solar equipment, you will get a 10-year warranty. This warranty applies if you pair a battery and inverter from the same brand. The manufacturer provides this warranty for the parts.

SSEG represents Small-scale Embedded Generation, essentially mini-power plants that produce energy within residential and/or commercial buildings. They utilize various technologies, including photovoltaic (PV) systems, to generate power.

According to regulation, and the governmental municipal requirements all photovoltaic (PV) systems are required to be formally registered by the applicable local municipality. It is considered tampering if not correctly registered and will incur hefty fines and or decommissioning. This registration and processing enables the municipality the ability to ensure the quality of the system and / or installation to avoid instances of potential life threatening electrocutions whilst technicians work on the network. You as the homeowner, are personally responsible for the registration and to ensure that it is approved.
